How much does a home elevator cost?
A: If Google can roll a crew to your driveway and install a lift for thirty grand or less, sign that contract today! In reality, search engines and AI scrape numbers from old articles, Reddit threads, and half-finished DIY blogs. Those figures usually cover equipment only and ignore everything that turns a boxed lift into a working elevator.

- Insurance & bonding – Liability premiums have doubled.
- Manufacturer increases – Factory prices on lifts rose ~40 % since 2020
Despite those headwinds, we keep our margin steady and bundle every step into one transparent number.

FAQ
- How much is a typical shaftless home lift installation through Carolina Housing Solutions? Our average project is $45-50,000. These are turn key projects including permitting, construction, installation and everything else needed.
- How long will this take? We are in your home for 5-8 days on average. Many companies advertise same day installation and that is misleading. The installation of the lift can be done in 1-2 days but the project itself requires construction, and inspections, dry time for mud and paint and numerous other factors that make the start to finish job take us typically 5-8 days.
- What could affect the cost of my project? Our turnkey pricing includes everything needed for a basic installation which most people fall into. That would be choosing a spot from one room through the ceiling into another room without moving any walls etc. Some people want to put them in a garage or unfinished attic space which requires an enclosure around them for fire rating. Some want it hidden so they want it in an enclosure. Some people want to remove two closets or a second staircase to accommodate the lift. These are just a few examples of situations in which we would add to the project total.
